Peacemakers

Keeping the peace often means avoiding trouble; making peace means stepping into it gently. Jesus calls peacemakers blessed and names them children of God. Making peace can be small and costly: being the first to apologize, refusing to pass on gossip, listening to someone you disagree with until you truly understand them. It rarely makes headlines. But every time we choose understanding over winning, we reflect the family likeness of a God who reconciles.
