Future and Hope
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB)
These words were first spoken to people far from home, told to settle in, plant gardens, and wait. Hope was not instant; it came through long, ordinary years. That makes the promise more honest, not less. God’s plans for good may not unfold on our timetable, and they may look different from what we pictured. Yet we can trust that our story is held by Someone who wants a future and a hope for us.
Prayer
God of hope, when I cannot see ahead, help me trust your good plans for my life.
