This Day

This day will not come again. It may be ordinary, with laundry and emails and a commute, or it may be hard in ways no one else can see. Still, the psalm says it is a day the Lord has made, and invites us to rejoice in it. Joy here is not pretending everything is fine. It is looking for one gift hidden inside the hours, and receiving it with an open hand.
