Lamp for the Path

An old oil lamp did not light up a whole valley. It lit a few steps ahead, just enough to see where to place your feet. God’s word works in a similar way. We rarely get a map of the next ten years, but we often get enough light for the next faithful step. If the road ahead feels dim, read a few lines of Scripture slowly and ask simply: what is my next step?
