A Different Peace

The world offers peace that depends on circumstances: a quiet house, a full bank account, everyone getting along. Those are good gifts, but fragile. Jesus offers a different kind of peace, one he leaves with us as a gift, one that can remain even when circumstances are hard. It is the peace of knowing we are held. Our hearts need not be afraid. His peace is not on loan; it is given.

Jesus, give me your peace today, the kind that holds firm when life is uncertain.
