Overflowing Hope

Paul prays that the God of hope will fill us with joy and peace as we trust, until we overflow with hope. Imagine a cup under a running tap, filling until it spills over the edge. Hope here is not something we manufacture by trying harder. It is poured in by God’s Spirit. Our part is to stay under the tap: trusting, praying, and letting the overflow reach the people around us.
